Fritz and Lang crossed over into Mongolia shortly after 8am on Sunday morning.  The day was to include 123 miles off-road driving and end with tent camping.  Rainbow Arch marks the border between Mongolia and China. _______________________________________________________ Day 3 Rankings: Fritz and Lang are now ranked Bronze coming in today at 16 hours and 9 minutes. Day 1 of the rally has come and gone.  398 kms down!  While we wait for them to find a few spare moments to share their experiences with us I thought I’d call your attention to the day’s report from the event organizer.  I also have a few photos courtesy of Lang’s wife, Linda. Navigating through Beijing

  Big day today. We picked our car up at a warehouse near the docks. Our car started up on the very first crank! Using trip notes called Tulips¹ we navigated about 23 miles in one of the world’s busiest cities back to our hotel. Drivers along the way were honking, taking photos and waving all the way. Pretty amazing. Our 15 minutes of fame in Beijing. We missed the last turn and had to turn around and find our way back. Not a good scenario believe me.
