I always thought that Iran would be the centerpiece of our trip and after three full days here, it has exceeded my expectations. It is just amazing. The welcome we have received from all the people we come in contact with is so positive. Everyone goes out of their way to make us feel welcome in their country. It started at the border when the Iranian automobile club was waiting for us. A huge crowd was there clapping and cheering when we crossed over in to the country. And a story from last night. Got a surprise call from Fritz this morning! They’ve made it through day 6 of the Peking to Paris Rally unscathed and are getting ready for bed. Tonight “bed” is one of four cots arranged around the inside perimeter of a Yurt. In fact, they’re staying in a little yurt village. Here’s a satellite image of where they are.
